11/06/2018

Customs seizure of excessive silver rings

On October 26, Qingdao Customs-stationed Post Office X-rayed an inbound mail and seized 114 pieces of silver ornaments in the parcel, including 59 bracelets, 20 rings, 25 necklaces and 10 lighter covers, totaling 220,000 Yuan in value. Now the inbound mail has been returned abroad.

As per state regulations, inbound silver by post should be reasonable in quantity for personal use and, in the case of excess, must go through customs clearance on the strength of relevant approval issued by the People’s Bank of China; if such approval is absent, the Customs will take action to return the inbound silver by law.
