Must the Consignee/Consignor Be Present When the Customs Inspect the Goods?

In accordance with the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, a consignee/consignor of imported/exported goods or the representative thereof shall be present at the inspection made by the Customs, and responsible for moving the goods and unpacking and repacking the package. The Customs may inspect or re-inspect the goods or pick up samples thereof at their discretion whenever they deem necessary.
