Shenzhen Customs District, working closely with Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, Huizhou Anti-smuggling Office and Anti-smuggling Bureaus of Gongbei, Huangpu, Nanchang and Hohhot Customs Districts, mounted a big special anti-smuggling operation codenamed “ZY01”a few days ago. A network that was suspected of smuggling out resource products, restricted or forbidden by the State (for example, rare earth), was dismantled in the operation. 4 smuggling gangs, 21 suspects, 61.5 tons of rare earth and some other mineral products, account books and some materials were also smashed, seized and found in the operation. The case involved a value of approximately RMB 100 million.
