Hohhot Customs Clears 50,000 Breeding Chickens from New Zealand into Inner Mongolia
01/11/2020

In Hohhot Customs District, a total of 50,000 breeding chickens from New Zealand were put under quarantine control in Xilin Gol, Inner Mongolia Region on December 11.

Starting from December 3, these import chickens were delivered by air into the Capital International Airport of Beijing, and then transited by road into the quarantine station in Xilin Gol for the 30-days quarantine process.

In support of the import, local Dongwu Customs House set up a special work-group in advance to ensure compliant facilities and sanitation of the quarantine station, formulate and implement strict controlling process, and provide professional anti-epidemic training for the on-site breeders. Additionally, it closely collaborated with Beijing Capital Airport Customs House in the field inspection, quarantine and transit control to ensure the bio-safety of the inbound chickens.

Allegedly, the import can relieve the shortage of breeding chickens in Inner Mongolia Region so as to boost local broiler industry.
