Vice Minister Hu Wei Leads a Visiting Delegation to the United Kingdom

From November 21 to 23, Vice Minister Hu Wei visited the United Kingdom with a Customs delegation.

 

Vice Minister Hu had bilateral meeting with Ms.Penny Ciniewicz, Director General of Customer Compliance, HM Revenue and Customs and Ms. Emma Moore, Chief Operating Officer of Border Force, during which they exchanged views on enhancing the cooperation on risk management and law enforcement, as well as the transition of bilateral cooperation documents after Brexit. After the meeting, Mr. Hu Wei and Ms.Penny Ciniewicz signed Exchange of Note between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Mr. Hu also hold a bilateral meeting with Mr. George Eustice MP, Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, during which they exchanged views on market access of food and agricultural products and cooperation on enterprise registration. Mr. Hu Wei and Mr. George Eustice MP signed Joint Statement between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Department for Environment,Food & Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) on collaboration on standards for scrapie risk assessment and risk management and Joint Statement between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Department for Envirnment, Food & Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on a series of technical exchanges to consider Avian Influenza (AI) compartmentalization standards.
  
In addition, Vice Minister Hu Wei also held working exchanges with Zhu Qin, Minister of Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom, and paid a visit to CCIC London Company Limited.
