On December 12, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Umberto de Pretto, Secretary General of International Road Transport Union.

Both sides highly valued China's accession to the TIR Convention and the bilateral cooperation progress achieved. The two sides agreed on the following four aspects. Firstly, cooperation under the framework of The Belt and Road Initiative should be enhanced. Secondly, road transport facilitation should be promoted. Thirdly, cooperation in the fields of convention implementation, capacity building and research should be deepened. Fourthly, Customs and transport sectors should cooperate closely on law awareness, compliance and enforcement so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
