Shijiazhuang Customs Destroys Mildewed Soybeans from Abroad
07/30/2019

Recently in Shijiazhuang Customs District, a batch of import soybeans were intercepted at Qinhuangdao Customs House because mildewed soybeans were found in a few compartments of the carrying ship. The mildewed soybeans, dull in color and pungent in smell, totaled 7.86 tons in quantity. To prevent them from going into production, Qinhuangdao Customs conducted total destruction over the 7.86 tons.

In the first half year, 650,000 tons of soybeans were imported to Qinhuangdao, with substandard soybeans reaching 25 consignments and accounting for 25.5% of total batches.

Customs reminder: During the transportation process, cargo compartments should be strictly regulated in ventilation and temperature, and any mildewed soybeans should be disposed of in time; besides, in the soybean purchase and shipment contracts, the importer should specify the requirements on quality standards and control items to ensure their legitimate interests.
