On October 26, the Airport Office of Zhanjiang Customs District smoothly exercised control over the international regular flight of Zhanjiang—Bangkok run by the Capital Airlines Inc, which is the first international airline at Zhanjiang Airport over the past 63 years and marks a great effort by Zhanjiang City to fulfill China’s the“Belt and Road” strategy. This new air route will build an air bridge between west Guangdongand the ASEAN countries, thus significant for bilateral trade, tourism and cultural development.
To ensure the route opening on schedule for the convenience of the flights, Zhanjiang Customs acted in advance to communicate with the airlines for registration of firms, aircrafts and routes; made clearance plans, deployed human and material resources, enhanced personnel training and practice for efficient control and services; and worked with Zhanjiang Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau to carry out “one machine, double screens” operating mode, by which passengers and luggage were released in a more efficient way to ensure smooth entry and exit of the international flights.
