On April 11, with a mouse click by Shi Chengfeng, a customs officer of the Suzhou Industrial Park Customs in Nanjing Customs District, paper diapers declared as bonded import by Suzhou Jumei Youpin Information Technology Company Limited as well as maternal and baby products declared as direct import by Suzhou Xuantong Electronic Commerce Company were successfully released, marking the opening of Suzhou Comprehensive Pilot Area for Cross-Border E-Commerce.

On December 18, 2013, approved by the General Administration of Customs, Suzhou Industrial Park began to try out ordinary export by cross-border e-commerce firstly in Jiangsu Province. On January 12, 2016, Suzhou City was permitted by the State Council to build the comprehensive Pilot area for cross-border e-commerce.
