05/13/2020

Recently, Xiamen Customs cleared over 3,500 breeding cattle from New Zealand at a local quarantine station where, since April 5, many domestic clients have been selecting from these cattle including 4 varieties of Holstein, Jersey, Hareford and Simmental.

According to Xiamen Customs, in support of domestic poverty relief and market supply, the Customs has been collaborating with local governments in the guidance and services for the imports of livestock resources to help domestic livestock husbandry, on the precondition of intensive prevention and control of COVID-19 and external animal epidemics.

After the import, this batch of New Zealand cattle went through 45 days of quarantine under the control of onsite veterinarians. Now, these cattle are being transported by road from Xiamen to Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, etc. for the purpose of local breeding.
