Vice Minister Hu Wei and Dr. Mona Mehrez, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Egypt, jointly signed Memorandum of Understanding for Sanitary and Phytosanitary Requirements for Export of Sugarbeet Pulp from Egypt to China.

From November 24 to 26, Vice Minister Hu Wei visited Egypt with a Customs delegation.

Vice Minister Hu had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ezzaldin Omar Abusteit, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt, during which they exchanged views on market access of food and agricultural products. Mr. Hu and Dr. Mona Mehrez, Vice Minister of Agriculture for Livestock, Fisheries and Poultry Resources, jointly signed Memorandum of Understanding for Sanitary and Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of the Sugarbeet Pulp from Egypt to China between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Arab Republic of Egypt.  Mr. Hu also held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Ehab AbouAish, Vice Minister of Finance for Public Treasury and Mr. Jamal Hassan Negm, head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, during which they exchanged views on AEO mutual recognition, anti-fraud, anti-smuggling, and capacity building.

During his visit, Mr. Hu Wei held working exchanges with Mr. Song Aiguo, Chinese ambassador to Egypt, met with the heads of Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and HEIA and also paid a visit to Egyptian fruit and vegetable growing enterprises.
