From June 1 to 15, through cross-border e-commerce management platform, Guangzhou Customs cleared import and export commodities totaling 10.611 million batches about 3.1 billion yuan worth, up 43.0% and 90.7% year-on-year respectively, mainly made up of milk powder, health products and cosmetics. By estimate, the average daily import and export will exceed 700,000 consignments around June·18.
On June 15, a large number of import parcels reached cross-border e-commerce control warehouse at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and went through non-intrusive inspection by the Customs.
In response to the cross-border e-commerce surge, Baiyun Airport Customs House made advance survey of e-commerce brokers and firms, kept a daily reporting mechanism with the businesses to master their transactions, and automatically arranged inspection and disposal by information system. From June 1 to 15, the Airport cleared 609,000 batches of inbound commodities, worth 260 million yuan in total, up 32.2% and 28% month-on-month respectively.
During the epidemic period, cross-border e-commerce is a great support for foreign trade sustainability. Thus, Guangzhou Customs has rolled out a series of measures to facilitate B2B export business, export return, airport-seaport resources integration, and China Railway Express operation of cross-border e-commerce, along with optimization in clearance procedures, so as to help the enterprises’ trade growth, business transformation and brand promotion.
