Guangzhou Customs Helps China Railway Express Run in the Belt and Road
05/10/2019

Customs officers inspect the containerized goods on China Railway Express train.

On April 26, the “Guangzhou-Manzhouli-Russia” train of China Railway Express, carrying over 500 tons of Guangdong-made goods, pulled out of Dalang Railway Station, Guangzhou City (in Guangdong Province). The train was expected to exit through the port of Manzhouli (in Inner Mongolia Region), heading for Moscow of Russia, 10 days later.

In China, Guangzhou is the sixth city of using China Railway Express after Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Suzhou and Yiwu cities. From January to April this year, Guangzhou Customs District cleared totally 15 block trains of “Guangzhou-Manzhouli-Russia”, an increase of 7.14% year-on-year, and the goods thereon were valued at 760 million yuan, an increase of 21.3% year-on-year.

For recent years, Guangzhou Customs has answered the call of the country to make Guangzhou a transportation hub in the Belt and Road, thus facilitating international cargo transportation by China Railway Express. The Customs provides services in various forms such as a special service counter for China Railway Express, around-the-clock reservation, electronic declaration, and Question-and-Answer on WeChat app. It also supports enterprises’ purchase from the market to help integrate China Railway Express with new forms of business and, in a new intermodal manner, China Railway Express has been combined with highway and seaway modes in transporting the transit goods from Southeast Asian countries together with Guangdong exports.
