More Customs Clearance Facilitation Among China, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia: A New Sea-Land Route between Asia and Europe will be Created

On December 16, Minister Yu Guangzhou attended the small group talk between Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Ministers of Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia during the Third China-CEE Summit in Belgrade, Serbia.
After the meeting, with the witness of Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Ministers of the three other countries, Minister Yu signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in Facilitating Customs Clearance Among the Chinese, Hungarian, Serbian and Macedonian Customs with Mr. Karoly Szabo, Director General of Hungarian Customs Administration, Mr. Dusan Vujovic, Serbian Minister of Finance and Mr. Zoran Stavreski, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
With strengthening customs control, mutual administrative assistance and information exchange as its objectives, the agreement clarifies the four sides’ readiness to promote the construction of a new route between Asia and Europe, implement trade facilitation measures and promote Customs-business cooperation. The four sides will establish a Customs cooperation working group to strengthen their pragmatic cooperation in the exchange of policies, regulations and information, simplifying customs procedures, reducing inspection rate at ports, fighting against smuggling and illegal activities and exchange of personnel and experts, to bring Customs’ role in full play in safeguarding the safety and facilitation of trade supply chains and in promoting connectivity and trade growth.
The signing of the agreement symbolizes the early harvest of the transportation and logistics facilitation of the new sea-land route between Asia and Europe.
