Ningbo Customs Helps Import from Central-Eastern European Countries (CEEC)
06/12/2019

In recent years, with increasing imports from central and eastern European countries (CEEC), Ningbo has become the best port of entry into China for CEEC-made commodities.

Taking Poland-made dairy products as the example, Ningbo imported a total of 512.9 tons from Poland during the first four months of 2019, with the value at 6.42 million yuan, 1.5 times more year-on-year.

So far, most of CEEC countries have set up their national exhibition halls in Ningbo Import Commodities Exhibition Center, showing and selling their featured products such as European wine.

Many Ningbo businesses, being optimistic about the market prospect of CEEC-made foods, have imported the new products including chocolate pies from Czech, cookies from Bulgaria, and fruit juice from Serbia.

To facilitate the trade with CEEC, Ningbo Customs District has carried out a series of clearance facilitation measures to advance the market access of food, animal and plant products from CEEC. The Customs provides import consultation, market access evaluation, risk analysis and overseas alert for the importers.

According to the customs statistics, from January to April, Ningbo’s imports of goods from CEEC totaled 74,000 tons in quantity, up 8.4% year-on-year, and 920 million yuan in value.
