Ningbo Customs Releases Transit Goods from Russia to Vietnam by CRE + Sea-Railway Combined Transport
06/11/2020

On May 25, Ningbo Customs released a consignment of transit goods from Russia toward Vietnam, which were 100 containers of plastic particles, worth USD801,000, carried by the Chongqing-Ningbo Train of China Railway Express (CRE) into the port of Ningbo for seaway transit.

To ensure the transit control, by collaborating with Urumqi Customs, Chongqing Customs, Railway Administrations and Port Administrations concerned, Ningbo Customs facilitated operational connections for the “CRE + sea-railway combined transportation” in the new international land-sea trade corridor, with the aim of promoting the logistics gateway between Ningbo and Europe under the “Belt and Road” initiative.

According to Ningbo Customs, on arrival of the goods by CRE, the field officers timely finished cargo inspection and enabled the immediate transfer to the wharf of departure without delay.

According to the outward freight forwarder, it took more than 40 days in the past for such transit goods to start from Russia by Eurasia Land Bridge, transit via Vladivostok and finally reach Southeast Asia by sea, but now, through CRE + sea-railway combined transport, it only takes 25 days to reach the same destination.
