Nanjing Airport Customs Seizes Controlled Knives Carried by a Passenger
01/14/2019

At Lukou Airport Customs House in Nanjing Customs District, controlled knives were seized from an inbound passenger’s luggage on January 9, marking the second seizure of such case by this Custom House in 2019.

That day, the air passenger from Canada was intercepted by the Customs because his luggage showed abnormal images under X-ray machine and, through unpacking inspection, customs officers seized 4 well-packaged knives, with sharp blades 15—60 centimeters long, all belonging to controlled knives.

Controlled knives are subject to China’s restrictions on entry and exit, so inbound and outbound passengers must, in advance, get the permit from relevant administrations for carrying the controlled knives.
