Since international express delivery service was officially launched in Sanya City, Hainan Province in August 2018, Sanya Customs House (subordinate to Haikou Customs District) has cleared inbound express items of the B Category totaling 96,274 pieces, 237.3 tons and 17.91 million yuan worth.

International express delivery service is undertaken by the express operators for transporting and delivering inbound and outbound articles/goods in an expedite way based on their commitment. The express items of the B Category refer to inbound and outbound luggage, articles, gifts or donations separately delivered in reasonable quantity for personal use as per customs regulations.

Sanya’s international express route is mainly between Sanya and Auckland, New Zealand. The inbound items mainly include milk powder, health-care food, wine, garments, and wool quilts; part of them will be transited all over the country after their import into Sanya.

Over the past one year, Sanya Customs, in line with the “smart customs” strategy, implemented CT intelligent examination on express items in combination with manual inspection, achieving strong control, proper pre-warning, and fast clearance; made field inspection with video monitoring to target false declarations and intensify the control over prohibited/restricted goods as well as quarantined goods; provided professional skill training for the inspectors by giving operational seminars and demonstrations.

In future, Sanya Customs House will continue providing strong control and quality services for international express delivery to support Sanya’s position as an international tourist attraction.
