On June 24, Minister Yu Guangzhou and Mr. Beliyaninov, Head of Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation held bilateral talks in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Both sides reviewed and highly appreciated the ongoing cooperation between the two Customs administrations. They reached consensus on further strengthening cooperation. Firstly, the two sides should take further efforts in customs cooperation by linking the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Road Strategy with the Euro-Asian Economic Union. Secondly, institutional promotion should be enhanced on projects like Green Channel and mutual recognition of customs controls so as to attract more participation of enterprises. Thirdly, both sides should further enhance cooperation on trade statistics from bilateral to multilateral level. Fourthly, both sides should strengthen coordination on regional, multilateral and the WCO matters such as the customs cooperative mechanism among China, Mongolia and Russia, the customs cooperation among the BRICS countries, and the promotion of the customs cooperation committee under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. And fifthly, both sides should carefully design and prepare all the key meetings and joint activities of this year between the two Administrations in advance.
