On May 25, Vice Minister Hu Wei paid a visit to South Africa and met with Mr. Thomas Swabihi Moyane, Commissioner of South African Revenue Service.

The two sides reviewed the fruitful achievements of China-South Africa Customs cooperation, and reached consensus on four points for further cooperation. Firstly, to evaluate and renew China-South Africa Customs Strategic Partnership Project and Statement of Cooperation Intent of China-South Africa Customs Capacity Building. Secondly, to promote capacity building cooperation through ways of the WCO China Customs Cooperation Fund, holding seminars, exchanging reform experiences and so on. Thirdly, to actively participate in the bilateral and multilateral joint enforcement operations proposed by each other, with a focus on cracking down on smuggling of drugs and endangered species. Fourthly, to intensify communication and cooperation under such multilateral frameworks as the WCO and BRICS, to share common grounds and achieve a win-win result.
