On April 1, three provinces including Jiangsu Province and two cities began to offer tax refund for purchase of overseas passengers on their exit. That day, Jinling Customs House (affiliated to Nanjing Customs District) formally enabled the service point of “Tax Refund for Overseas Passengers on Exit” at Lukou International Airport.
On their exit, overseas passengers, who have bought tax-refundable commodities from designated tax-refundable shops in Nanjing City, can go through tax-refund customs verification procedures at the customs verification point by presenting tax-refundable commodities, tax-refund request notes, commodity sale invoices and valid ID cards when conducting check-in formalities at Terminal 2 of Nanjing Lukou Airport. And after finishing the verification, they can go to the tax-refund service point in the departure area for tax refund.
The customs officer was answering questions about tax refund on exit.
