Minister Yu Guangzhou Meets Chief Executive of Macau M.A.R.

On May 25, Minister Yu Guangzhou met with Mr. Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of Macau Special Administrative Region (Macau S.A.R.) at the Protocol Building, Macau.

Minister Yu expressed his gratitude to Chief Executive Chui for his attention and support to the Customs cooperation of the two sides over the years. Chief Executive Chui extended his warm welcome to the visit paid by Minister Yu. He spoke highly of the cooperation outcome in areas such as the implementation of relevant policies of both the Central and Macau S.A.R. governments, the promotion of Customs clearance facilitation and mutual assistance of Customs control. The Chief Executive also expressed high appreciation to the Mainland Customs in support of the construction of the World Tourism and Recreation Center and the Service Platform for the Commercial and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries in Macau, and the promotion of proper diversification of economy and trade in Macau.

They also exchanged views on topics concerning the construction in line with the Belt and Road Strategy by taking advantage of the unique strengths of each Customs, the further cooperation in association with “mutual recognition of control, mutual assistance of enforcement, and mutual exchange of information”, the promotion of trade facilitation between the Mainland and Macau S.A.R., and the follow-up work after the re-demarcation of water area surrounding Macau S.A.R..
