Recently, Tianjin Customs has taken special actions to crack a number of smuggling gangs across different provinces, involving more than 800,000 tons of marble blocks, valued at nearly RMB1.4 billion, marking the largest marble block smuggling scale seized by China Customs.
On May 26 and June 27 respectively, Tianjin Customs, by sending out more than 400 person-time of anti-smuggling force in dozens of action groups, captured marble blocks smuggling simultaneously in Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian and Guangdong provinces. As a result, the officers controlled several hundred people involved, took criminal coercive measures against 55 smugglers, detained numerous documentary and electronic evidences as well as tens of millions of yuan of money involved, and freezed more than 10 million yuan of illegal gains.
