Huangpu Customs Seizes IPR-Infringing Hair Clippers Over 3,600 in Export
09/27/2019

Recently in Huangpu Customs District, over 3,600 electric hair-clippers to export were detained by Laogang Customs House because of their infringement on intellectual property right (IPR).

A trading company declared to Laogang Customs House for an export of electric hair-clippers to Indonesia. According to the declaration form, the goods were 3,336 hair-clippers without brand and model. But customs officers found them printed with the “WAHL” trademark of American WAHL Clipper Inc. Later, the IPR owner confirmed them infringing and applied for IPR enforcement by the Customs.

Moreover, by cooperating with the IPR owner, the Customs seized another export consignment to Venezuela involving 300 hair-clippers infringing on the “WAHL” trademark right.

Now, through the “Soaring Dragon 2019” campaign, Huangpu Customs is intensifying control and inspection over the exports to the “Belt and Road” countries/regions so as to crack down on IPR infringement and other illegal activities.
