Beijing Customs Publicizes IPR Protection in Neighborhoods

On August 7, before the day of Customs Law Publicity, officers of Beijing Customs District showed some of their seizures convictively infringing upon the trademarks of Hermes, LV, Samsung and Ray-Ban to citizens in Nanlang Neighborhood of Chaoyang District in Beijing, making comparisons and identifications between the genuine and the counterfeit with the help of professionals from Xiaomi, Samsung, P&G and other manufacturers.

 

Besides branded light luxuries, daily-used Safeguard soaps, Head & Shoulders shampoos, and Olympic commemorative coins were also on display. The genuine and the counterfeit, though seemingly same, were actually different from each other. When the citizens on the spot knew the truth, they all shouted,we have learned a lot.

 

According to the statistics, in the first half of this year, Beijing Customs District detained more than 3,500 batches, totaling about 7,000 pieces of suspected IPR infringement goods, which were mainly comprised of industrial bearings, apparel, USB disks, and spectacles.
