Dunhuang Airport Customs House Opens in Lanzhou Customs District

In Lanzhou Customs District, the new-built Dunhuang Airport Customs House was officially opened on May 9 to handle customs affairs for the public. From now on, foreign-trade businesses based in Dunhuang City can locally undertake customs affairs including declaration, inspection, tax-relief application, and processing-trade registration.  

 

This February, Dunhuang Airport passed state acceptance test for opening-up to the outside world and became the second opening airport after Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport in Gansu Province. 

 

Subordinate to Lanzhou Customs, the Airport Customs House is in charge of customs work within the jurisdiction of Dunhuang City, including control and inspection over inbound or outbound aircrafts, other vehicles, passengers and their belongings, local customs statistics, audit-based control, inspection and quarantine, hygiene license and health supervision, customs declaration, processing-trade and bond control, approval of temporary import and export.   

 

Since 2015 when the State Council approved temporary opening of Dunhuang Airport, this Customs House has cleared 132 chartered airplanes/flights to and fro Hong Kong SAR, with the passengers and aircrew members totaling 18,892, inspected 17,046 pieces of luggage, and seized import-banned animal and plant products totaling 229 batches or 611 pieces.
