Qingdao Customs Facilitates Import of Wildlife Specimens
03/05/2017

A few days ago, 286 pieces of import wildlife specimens arrived at Qingdao, and local Customs examined and released them quickly to ensure their settling in the city.

The specimens, valuable for scientific research, would be exhibited in a local museum. As they were easy to be damaged, strong professional expertise would be required when being packed and disassembled. Therefore, Huangdao Customs House (affiliated to Qingdao Customs District) tracked the whole transportation process and dispatched officers to the museum for onsite inspection, thus enabling the specimens to be directly delivered to the warehouse upon the completion of clearance formalities.

Field inspection and clearance will save us much time and cost, said Yang Kai, the museum project director. The precious wildlife specimens would be shown by AR and VR technologies, providing vivid natural science popularization education to the public.
