Shanghai Customs Helps Export Automobiles Abroad
01/05/2021

On December 28, more than 200 electric cars of Renault were exported from Waigaoqiao Port under the control of Shanghai Customs, signaling continuous growth in automobile export from Shanghai in 2020.

In August, 100 Changan cars exported from Shanghai; in October, many new-energy cars (including Tesla Model 3 and SAIC Maxus) exported from Shanghai. According to the customs statistics, from January through November, the export from Waigaoqiao Port totaled 297,000 cars, an increase of 19.27% year-on-year, including 28,000 new-energy cars that increased 4 times year-on-year.

In support of automobile export during the anti-epidemic period, Shanghai Customs opens a special “green lane” with 7×24-hour reservation service to expedite the clearance without delay; sets up a “one-on-one” liaison mechanism with auto enterprises in response to their demands; collaborates with Waigaoqiao Port Administration in managing the export autos and reducing the logistics time to optimize the clearance environment.
