Guangzhou Customs Helps Canton Fair in Exhibit Clearance
10/28/2019

The 126th session of Canton Fair (i.e. China Import and Export Fair) took place in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on October 15, attracting 642 enterprises from 38 countries and regions.

In order to enhance the trade facilitation, Guangzhou Customs improved the “internet + customs” operation and self-developed an “internet + exhibition” e-system to achieve full information processing for exhibition registration, clearance, supervision and cancellation; through customs-quarantine integration, it reduced the clearance procedure from 16 steps to 8 steps; it also provided a new mode of “single registration, document submission by stages”, allowing the exhibitors to register their information at first and submit exhibit lists by batch later, so as to ensure fast clearance of the exhibits on their arrival.

Moreover, the Customs simplified the re-export formalities for the exhibits by using a special channel and counter; also made field inspection at the exhibition site, closely inspecting food, cosmetics, electro-machinery that are concerned with safety and sanitation.

Till the opening day of October 15, Guangzhou Customs cleared 150,000 pieces of exhibits, worth about 6.08 million yuan, for the first phase of this Fair.
