When opening the luggage, customs officers found live snakes inside, sticking out their flicking tongues! On April 26, Shenzhen Customs seized nearly 80 live snakes, totally weighing 6kg at the entry hall for passenger inspection at Futian port.
On that day, at Futian port, a Hong Kongyoung man with a black knapsack entered the passenger control hall and received customs inspection. However, with his knapsack opened, inspectors almost got a fright at seeing live snakes in many transparent plastic boxes.
“These boxes seemed like transparent plastic lunch-boxes we usually see. Every box contained 3 or 4 snakes, each 60-70 centimeters long, coiling and alive. We were all shocked because those boxes were given no special sealing or safeguarding measures. If those boas broke out of the boxes, they are likely to hurt people and incur serious consequence. ”said one inspector.
In the knapsack, there were 22 plastic boxes with nearly 80 live snakes, 6kg in total.
