Nanjing Customs Seizes IPR-Infringing Trucks at Lianyungang Port
12/04/2020

Customs seizure of IPR-infringing trucks

In Nanjing Customs District, 2 used dump trucks to export were detained for IPR infringement at Lianyungang Port on November 10, marking the first seizure of outbound counterfeit vehicles in Lianyungang in recent years.

Through the cargo inspection, customs officers found the used dump trucks printed with the trademarks of “CNHTC”, “SINOTRUK” and “中国重汽”, while the exporter was not an authorized user of those trademarks. The Customs House consulted the registered IPR owner and finally confirmed the dump trucks infringing on the trademark rights. By now, the 2 counterfeit vehicles have been under further investigation.

Since this year, Lianyungang Customs House has been actively pushing the “Soaring Dragon 2020” campaign for IPR protection. With focus on key model enterprises, the Customs House keeps close cooperation with them and, by collaborating with other Customs Districts, it has set up a joint protection mechanism for key model enterprises. So far, Lianyungang Customs has finished 4 IPR enforcements for such enterprises, involving cargo value over 300,000 yuan.
