On July 24, Xiamen Customs District began to extensively use “one-stop” inspection sites located in such places as Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, and Longyan, which announced the achievement of joint inspection between Customs and CIQ (short for “China Inspection and Quarantine”).
Such “one-stop” inspection means Customs and CIQ conduct a joint inspection over inward and outward goods in a shared checking site, which is more intensive and efficient compared with traditional way. Through this, both sides can not only share their resources including inspection equipments and techniques, but also cut their time due to dispersion of checking sites and personnel.
Since the first “one-stop” inspection site launched in FTZ on April 21, Customs and CIQ have jointly inspected 566 consignments and 2,073 containers.
