As the first Customs district using unified information-based Customs clearance management system for cross-border e-commerce imports, Guangzhou Customs District will optimize and upgrade the system this year, exploring and promoting new modes of ‘cross-border warehouse + direct purchase imports’, ‘global cross-border e-commerce distribution center’ and ‘cross-border e-commerce + new retailing entities’, and further promote healthy and regulated development of cross-border e-commerce.
Since nominated as the cross-border e-commerce pilot city in 2013, Guangzhou’s cross-border e-commerce business volume has been the biggest in China for four consecutive years. Guangzhou Customs handled 220 million cross-border e-commerce import and export declarations in 2017, which allowed around 800 commodities to be distributed to over 180 countries and regions throughout the world. Guangzhou Customs has also been facilitating the building of industry cluster of ‘Nansha Bonded Port Area + Baiyun Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone’ and supporting Guangzhou’s drive to build the national cross-border e-commerce hub.
