Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Mr. John Tsang Chun-wah, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR in Hong Kong on September 18. The two sides reviewed the cooperation between the General Administration of Customs of China and the departments concerned of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region, and positively evaluated the Customs cooperation, and trade and economic relations between the Mainland and Hong Kong SAR.
Vice Minister Sun made five proposals on further strengthening the cooperation: to provide clearance and tariff facilitation for imported wine to the Mainland via Hong Kong SAR, to implement related policy and measures of both sides, to promote trade facilitation, to enhance law enforcement cooperation and to strengthen trade statistics cooperation.
Ms. Qiu Hong, Deputy Head of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Andrew Wong Ho-yuen, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Kenneth Mak Ching-yu, Director General of Trade and Industry Department, Mr. Clement Cheung Wan-ching, Commissioner of Customs and Excise Department of the Hong Kong SAR attended the meeting.
