On 1st to 8th September, Ms. Hu Yumin, Member of the CPC Leadership Group of the General Administration of Customs of China met Heads of Finland Customs, Sri Lanka Customs and Viet Nam Customs respectively.
On 1st and 2nd September, Hu met Mr. Jarkko Sakari Saksa, Deputy Director General of Finland Customs in Helsinki, Finland. Both sides positively commented on the latest progress achieved in China-Finland Customs cooperation, exchanged views and reached consensus on such issues as increasing mutual visits, enhancing cooperation in enforcement, capacity building, Customs control over cross-border e-commerce and WCO affairs, and shared practices and experience on how to build Customs integrity. During her stay, Hu visited Customs operation fields in the Vuosaari Port to see the deployment and application of container inspection equipment, and visited Customs operation sites of cargo control and passenger control in Helsinki Airport to study how Finland Customs in Airports use intelligence, canines and risk analysis for effective control.
During the visit, Hu also met Mr. Chen Li, China’s Ambassador to Finland, in Helsinki.
On 4th to 6th September, Hu and Mr. W. A. Chulananda Pirella, Director General of Sri Lankan Customs, held bilateral talks in Colombo, where the two sides updated on the latest progress, and exchanged views and reached consensus in such areas as advancing the building of the “Belt and Road”, improving the cooperation mechanism between the two Customs and enhancing cooperation in capacity building, enforcement and WCO affairs. During her stay, Hu visited Customs operation fields in Kandy to study the operation modes and procedures of Sri Lanka’s bonded warehouses, and visited Customs sites in Galle to see how Sri Lanka Customs supervises seaports with transshipment business as well as inbound/outbound processing enterprises. Besides, Hu studied the Customs automated system for passenger control in Colombo Airport and visited Colombo Port.
During the visit, Hu also met Mr. Yi Xianliang, China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, in Colombo.
On 7th and 8th September, Hu held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Van Can Nguyen, Direct General of Viet Nam Customs, Mr. Vu Ngoc Anh, Deputy Director General of Viet Nam Customs, and Mr. Nguyen Cong Binh, Deputy Director General of Viet Nam Customs. Both sides briefed each other on the latest progress, shared views and reached consensus on the building of the “Belt and Road”, enforcement, trade facilitation, integrity, capacity building, border Customs cooperation, cooperation under regional frameworks such as China-ASEAN and Lancang-Mekong and that under multilateral frameworks such as the WCO and APEC. During her stay, Hu visited Customs operation fields in Hanoi to study the application of electronic clearance system.
During the visit, Hu also met Mr. Hong Xiaoyong, China’s Ambassador to Viet Nam, in Hanoi.
