Nanjing Customs Seizes IPR-Infringing Bearings at Lianyungang Port
03/31/2021

In Nanjing Customs District, an export of mechanical bearings (5,450 sets) with “FAG” trademark was detained at Lianyungang Port on February 23 at the request of the trademark owner.

Under legal protection, the “FAG” trademark is owned by Schaeffler AG of Germany. In the export inspection, Lianyungang Customs House consulted the IPR Register System of China Customs and found no information of the exporter, who had no certificate on trademark use authorization. Through subsequent enforcement, those bearings were confirmed to be counterfeit by the trademark owner and were detained under further investigation by the Customs. Counterfeit bearings, when used in mechanical equipment, can pose safety hazards.

All the time, Lianyungang Customs House focuses on entry-exit IPR protection, giving severe punishment on IPR infringement, to safeguard the owners’ interests and foreign trade order.
