Yinchuan Customs Helps Import Wheat from Lithuania into Ningxia
05/18/2020

On April 10, under the control of Yinchuan Customs, a batch of Lithuanian wheat was delivered into the designated warehouse in Ningxia Region. It was the first time for a Ningxia-based enterprise to import wheat from Lithuania, marking a further progress in the cooperation between Ningxia Region and the Belt and Road”-involved countries.

This batch of Lithuanian wheat, totaling 5,000 tons, imported via the seaport of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, was transported by road to Ningxia Saibeixue Flour Mill Company. In the subsequent control, Yinchuan Customs inspected the field processes of unloading, warehousing, processing and leftover disposal, to ensure the security of the imported food.

Reportedly, Kazakhstan recently suspended exporting some of agricultural produce including wheat, with certain impact on Saibeixue Company’s flour business. However, the import from Lithuania can solve the shortage of raw materials faced by such food enterprises.
