Zhanjiang Customs Settles Enterprises Down after Typhoon

We have decided to import the 20,000 tons of manganese ores directly purchased from overseas for the first time through Tiaoshun Harbor of Zhanjiang Port in November. The great news from Guangxi Bayi Ferro-Alloys Co., Ltd. after the violent typhoon of Rainbow is so inspiring.

 

Hit by the violent typhoon of Rainbow, the handling facilities of Tiaoshun Harbor of Zhanjiang Port were damaged and the waterway was blocked. Guangxi Bayi Ferro-Alloys Co., Ltd., which intended to do import business at Zhanjiang Port, had concerns about the ports ability to resume operation. Its just a step away for it to abandon the original plan and switch to Guangxi Port. After knowing related situations, Customs Office in Xiahai( affiliated to Zhanjiang Customs District) provided guidance for the enterprise to resume production in a well-organized and rapid manner on one hand, and actively visited the company for explanation of restoration of the ports operation after the disaster at Zhanjiang Port Groups invitation on the other hand. It also let them know Zhanjiang Customs Districts measures to facilitate their development.

 

To support the disaster relief and production restoration works of the port, docks and enterprises, Customs Office in Xiahai took swift actions after the typhoon of Rainbow. Jinling Sugar Group Co., Ltd. suffered from the disaster was about to import 5960 tons of raw sugar, the office sent customs officer to the enterprises bonded warehouse for on-site guidance after knowing the situation, which accelerated the safe warehousing of raw sugar and facilitated the early restoration of the enterprises production in accordance with the policies. The office sent working groups to Maoming Baixin and other companies to investigate network supervision on processing trade, know losses from the disaster and restoration of production, help enterprises transformation and upgrading, comprehensively improve the standard of information and automation-based management, simplify approval process and reduce operating cost. It also actively contacted all import and export enterprises within its jurisdiction, and made a list of for those enterprises who need support for disaster relief and production restoration, with their losses due to the disaster, production restoration plan and their needs from the Customs, as well as the Customs preferential policies and support measures on it, and thoroughly carried out the polices and measures item by item through proactive services.

 

With the customs support, 33 out of the 40 enterprises on the list have resumed normal production at the moment.
