On September 6, Mr. Sun Yibiao, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, together with Ms. Gelijieva, Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the Eighth Meeting of the Customs Cooperation Sub-committee under the framework of the China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting Committee in Petrozavodsk of Russia.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the cooperation outcomes, listened to the reports delivered respectively by the seven working groups under the Customs Cooperation Sub-committee and the report on cooperation between the two Customs at borders.

To further advance the ongoing cooperation, Mr. Sun made four proposals. Firstly, the two sides should make efforts in pushing forward linkage between the Silk Economic Belt and Road with the Euro-Asian Economic Union. Secondly, get ready for the 21st China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting and promote implementation of key cooperative projects. Thirdly, strengthen close partnership with the private sector. And fourthly, enhance cooperation and coordination under the multilateral framework.

After the meeting, Mr. Sun Yibiao and Ms. Gelijieva signed the meeting minutes.
