Lanzhou Customs Supports Apple Export
03/02/2020

On February 13, through quarantine process conducted by Lanzhou Customs, 30 tons of fresh apples were smoothly exported to Nepal from Tianshui City, Gansu Province.

In order to expand the export of fresh apples produced in Gansu, Lanzhou Customs takes multiple measures for local exporters during the COVID-19 outbreak. Without onsite contact with enterprises, the Customs conducted online administrative approval, helped businesses with their clearance problems, and delivered inspection and quarantine certificates by express mail to enterprises.

The Customs also set up a special clearance workgroup, providing reservation services by WeChat communication with enterprises, so as to ensure “7X24hr” clearance without delay. The sampled apples were quickly inspected onsite or put into lab testing while those unsampled were released in a second. Regarding key exporters, the Customs provided them customized supports, including specific business training and guidance, to cope with cross-border trade risks.

According to statistics, since this February, Gansu Province has exported 2,985.6 tons of fresh apples, valued at USD4.714 million, and exported 1,211.6 tons of concentrated apple juice, valued at USD1.29 million.
