Qingdao Customs Destroys IPR-Infringing Auto-Parts, 220,000 Pieces
07/29/2019

Customs officers check the automotive bearings to be destroyed.

In Qingdao Customs District, about 220,000 pieces of IPR-infringing automotive parts were destroyed in a harmless manner by Huangdao Customs House on July 4, marking the largest-sale destruction of this kind in Qingdao.

This public destruction covered the IPR-infringing auto-parts seized by Huangdao Customs since 2016, more than 30 tons in total, including over 40 varieties such as diesel engines, water pumps, air filters and crankshafts that infringed the trademark rights of Weichai, MINH, TOYOTA, etc., respectively. Under the control of the Customs, an overall harmless process was implemented to ensure security and non-pollution.

Reportedly, counterfeit auto-parts are dangerous for automobiles, posing a severe threat to personal and property security, and therefore China Customs is always hitting hard the IPR infringement by such import and export products.
