Nanjing Customs Ensures SF Airlines “Wuxi-Hahn” Maiden Flight to Europe
09/26/2019

On the early morning of September 15, SF Airlines’ “Wuxi-Hahn (Germany)” intercontinental freight route was officially opened at Sunan Shuofang International Airport under the control of Wuxi Customs House in Nanjing Customs District.

On the “Wuxi-Hahn (Germany)” freight route, SF Airlines uses cargo airplanes of Boeing 747 to transport mainly electronic products, with each plane’s payload at 110 tons. This air route can bring benefits to the whole Europe and enhance the international freight capacity of Sunan Shuofang International Airport.

Before the route was opened, Wuxi Customs at the Airport helped SF Airlines and relevant enterprises with aircraft registration, manifest registration, joint operational connection and skill training for personnel. Because the intercontinental route involves a domestic segment from Wuxi to Chongqing, the Customs also collaborated with Chongqing Customs District to ensure outbound mixed freight in cross-Customs transit.

During the mid-autumn vacation, Wuxi Customs worked overtime to clear 25 consignments of exports, totaling 68.5 tons loaded on the first flight. The Customs will increase its overtime on holidays to provide around-the-clock clearance and it will also promote the “Smart Customs” process to further improve clearance efficiency, thus making Sunan Shuofang International Airport an airfreight hub in the Yangtze Delta region.
