On September 12, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao attended the 8th Meeting of China-Kazakhstan Port and Customs Cooperation Sub-committee in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan.
Vice Minister Sun and Mr. G. Amrin, Chairman of Customs Control Committee of Kazakhstan exchanged views on the economic and trade development of the two countries, evaluated the achievements made since the 7th meeting of the sub-committee, reviewed the outcome of the experts meeting of the 8th meeting, and appreciated the consensus reached by experts from both sides on pilot project of advance information exchange, joint control, risk management, mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), trade statistics, radioactive material detection, law enforcement cooperation at border, Green Channel for agricultural products, and port operation security management, etc.
Vice Minister Sun also made six proposals on further strengthening the bilateral cooperation, Firstly, to continuously support the Silk Road Economic Belt development. Secondly, to promote bilateral trade facilitation. Thirdly, to reinforce the early warning of Customs trade statistics. Fourthly, to improve border port operation and security. Fitthly, to jointly standardize charges by the port and port inspection agencies at border. Sixthly, to contiue to deepen the border Customs cooperation.
The two sides signed Minutes of the 8th Meeting of China-Kazakhstan Port and Customs Cooperation Sub-committee after the meeting.
