Shanghai Customs Fast Releases Batch-1 EU Beef

On January 20, Shanghai Customs District announced that the first consignment of EU beef smoothly passed the Customs at YangshanPorton January 14. This batch of beef fromHungaryweighed 12 tons, worth 65,000 Euros, as the first for EU beef import since limited admission byChina.

 

To ensure the smooth import from EU, Shanghai Customs prepared in advance. Through price pre-research, the Customs understood the statuses of domestic importers and EU exporters, and then collected further price information, thus guiding service site to finish the clearance efficiently.

 

On Jan 14, this batch of Hungarian beef arrived atYangshanPort.Yangshan Customs House, by working with inspection-quarantine agency, inspected and released these beef so fast as to ensure their offering in freshness. Reportedly, they would be offered to consumers through outlet centers and online shops.

 

According to Customs statistics, beef/mutton import volume multiplied inShanghaiin 2015, totally 170,000 tons or so, worth CNY5.5 billion or so, respectively 1.2 times and 1.3 times more than in 2014.
