From September 22 to 23, Mr. Zou Zhiwu, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China headed a delegation to visit the National Customs Service of Chile, and held bilateral talks with Mr. Juan Araya Allende, Director General of Chile Customs, in Valparaiso, Chile.
Both sides made positive comments on bilateral economic relations as well as customs cooperation, exchanged in-depth views and reached consensus on a number of topics, including the establishment of the electronic exchange system on origin information, promoting the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Chile Concerning Co-operation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters, cooperation on risk management, coordination on multilateral affairs and cooperation on capacity building, etc.
During this visit, Mr. Zou also paid a field visit to Valparaiso Customs, and met with Mr. Li Baorong, the Chinese Ambassador to Chile in Santiago. Mr. Zou briefed on the progress of China-Chile Customs cooperation and learned about the development of Chinese overseas enterprises in Chile as well as the issues that need the assistance of China Customs.
