Recently, Taishan Branch of Jiangmen Customs Anti-Smuggling Department seized 5 smuggled high-end cars. On June 10, Taishan Branch officers took anti-smuggling action and at a vehicle cleaning venue seized 5 smuggled inward cars including Benz GL450, Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery 4, BMW X6 and Lexus570, estimated worth over 5 million yuan. This case marked the first luxury car smuggling case cracked by Jiangmen Customs in “Gateway Sword 2016” campaign, with the largest number of high-end cars seized in recent years. Now the case is under further investigation.

The Customs reminds consumers that according to China's Criminal Law and Customs Law, anyone who directly buys any smuggled vehicles from a smuggler will be convicted as accomplice subject to criminal liability.
