On June 23, Minister Yu Guangzhou met with Mr. Dusanov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Both sides highly valued the headway made in customs cooperation between the two countries, and agreed to deepen cooperation on eight aspects. Firstly, the Belt and Road cooperation should be strengthened for better inter-connectivity. Secondly, both sides should strengthen cooperation on customs clearance to facilitate transit of China-Europe freight trains, customs transit goods as well as important bilateral governmental cooperation projects. Thirdly, customs enforcement cooperation should be conducted in the area of anti-smuggling, administrative assistance and anti-terrorism experience sharing. Fourthly, both sides should implement Protocol between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China And the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Regarding Organization of Information Exchange in order to enhance information exchange. Fifthly, data comparison and analysis should be conducted in order to enhance statistics cooperation. Sixthly, both sides should implement Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Risk Management among SCO member countries and strengthen regional cooperation in risk management. Seventhly, both sides should deepen capacity building cooperation and implement customs capacity building programs along the Silk Road Economic Belt. And eighthly, both sides should enhance regional and multilateral customs cooperation, support each other and harmonize views.
