On May 13, Minister Yu Guangzhou of the General Administration of China Customs (GACC), Vice Minister Sun Yibiao and Zhang Guangzhi (Member of the Board, GACC), met with Mr. Subromaniam Tholasy, Director-General of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department at the Headquarters of GACC.

Yu Guangzhou extended warm welcome to Mr. Subromaniam for attending the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Mr. Subromaniam spoke highly of the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed appreciation for being invited to the Forum. He also expressed his willingness to work closely with China Customs under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Yu Guangzhou made positive comments on the progress on bilateral cooperation made by two Customs. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on the following issues: to extensively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative; to promote mutual recognition of AEO; to strengthen enforcement cooperation; to push forward local customs cooperation; to strengthen coordination and cooperation under the framework of China-ASEAN Customs Cooperation.
