On October 16, Mr. Yu Guangzhou, Minister of General Administration of Customs of China, signed the Regulation on the Customs Cooperation Committee of the BRICS with customs leaders of India, Russia, Brazil and South Africa in the BRICS Summit.
The Regulation, providing the main tasks, functions, rights and obligations of the Customs Cooperation Committee of the BRICS, will assist BRICS Customs to upgrade, innovate and expand their cooperation, making it work in a more institutionalized and regular manner. It was the first time that the document on BRICS Customs cooperation was signed in the BRICS Summit. The establishment of the Customs Cooperation Committee was included in the Goa Declaration released by the BRICS Summit.
