On November 13, 2017, Dachan Customs House, an affiliate of Guangzhou Customs cracked a sandalwood smuggling ring, seizing 1.23 tons of sandalwood and nabbing one criminal suspect as a result. This is Guangzhou’s first case where rare wood was smuggled by yacht. The incident is currently pending further investigation.
